About Above The Waves
You are here because you have lost the most important thing in the world. You are struggling to get up each day and/or to sleep through the night. You feel the pain deep in your soul and are fearful that it will never go away.
You have lost your identity and your path, in a quick moment, your past, present and future has been altered, changed and destroyed.
The calls, cards and casseroles have stopped coming in, and you need support and direction because you just don’t know where to turn.
You can’t focus enough to read the self-help books you bought. There is no magic to make all of this go away overnight, but there is support for you as you walk this journey of grief.
Grief is a normal and natural reaction to significant emotional loss. Your loss is different than anyone else’s loss and should not be compared to other losses. Your loss could involve death, divorce, pet loss, moving, retirement and many others that have caused your world to be tossed into disarray.
Your personality-who you are-is what makes you the person that you are, and your emotions and feelings are yours and deserve to be respected as yours. Grief is individual and unique.
Though you are going through a normal and natural response to your loss, information that we receive from those around us may not be correct in that they are trying to make you look at grief as an intellectual response. Your grief is an emotional response and that is why you feel it at the very core of your soul, which causes the pain to radiate to all the areas of your life.
Above the Waves Grief Support helps to educate you on how to manage the pain and loss to move you towards relief using the Grief Recovery Method (GRM).
After walking through your grief journey, you may have to re-identify your new purpose in life and we help you through Life Coaching.
So tell us your story: have you found your way through the grief or are you still looking?
